Colossians Class at EWPC
This Bible class meets Sunday at 10:45 at EWPC, 6900 Billtown Road.
Last week we studied "The Colossian Heresy" in chapter 2 of Colossians. Here are some highlights:
* We discussed "...the worship of angels....", cult-like beliefs and behaviors that take Christians away from the person of Christ. How we are complete in Christ! This is what is stated in Colossians 2:10. How we don't need to go through a spiritual leader to pray and fellowship with Christ. We don't need to practice legalistic disciplines to be accepted by Christ.
* We will continue to go through Colossians and discuss topics such as:
1. The wonderful balance between knowledge/wisdom and practical Christian living.
2. Great verses like "...Christ in you, the hope of glory."
3. "Putting on" the new person, from chapter 3.
4. Paul's coworkers in chapter 4.

ReplyDeleteWe meet Sundays, 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM in room 201
Feb 4th: We looked at the first chapter of John's Gospel and some historical background information.
What does "...grace upon grace...." mean? John 1:16
Let's discuss, Jesus was full of grace and truth.
We also discussed how that this gospel was written about 90 AD, many years after Matthew, Mark and Luke. This helps explain the content John wrote about - how it begins -
"In the beginning was the Word...."
